ANDREW WHITE grew up in the church as a pastor/missionary’s kid. He is married to Carmen and they have a baby boy named Wesley James whom they adore. He is a Jesus-follower, preacher, worship leader, reader, writer, traveler, baseball and soccer fan, dog owner, taco enthusiast, and committed coffee snob.
He holds two master’s degrees from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and a doctor of ministry degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served churches in Mississippi, Virginia, and North Carolina. Andrew is the primary preacher at Gospel Community Church.
JAY SUTHERLAND is our resident local. He grew up in the Outer Banks and continues to serve the Lord in his hometown of Nags Head. He is husband to Alicia and father to Cora and Evie. He is a surfer with saltwater in his blood.
He graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a master’s degree before spending more than four years as a missionary with the International Mission Board in south Asia. His IMB training has helped inform the discipleship focus of Gospel Community Church.
JOSH PERKINS moved to Dare County in 2014 when he was assigned to the United States Coast Guard station at Oregon Inlet. He is a Chief, Surfman, heavy-weather expert, and trainer with the USCG. He comes to OBX from West Virginia and is an avid hunter and college basketball fan.
He is married to Clarissa and they have four sons: Auldon, Bryson, Corbin, and Dawson. He brings expertise in leadership and administration to the team, which the other two guys desperately need. He desires to serve a Word-based, Christ-centered, Spirit-led church for the glory of God.
