This is sermon #9 in our series through First Peter. In this series, we will see that God has a people for His own possession who are called to live holy lives in an unholy age. In this sermon from 1 Peter 3:8–12, Dr. Andrew White elaborates on the five adjectives Peter uses to describe the Christlike disposition of believers before explaining that the Christlike believer also practices submission even under duress. The righteous believer does not retaliate when persecuted, nor does he return insult for insult. Rather, he trusts in the Lord to avenge him. The Christian who seeks to live like Christ in spiritual exile restrains his tongue, seeks goodness, pursues peace, and will be blessed by God.
