This is sermon #6 in our series through First Peter. In this series, we will see that God has a people for His own possession who are called to live holy lives in an unholy age. In this sermon from 1 Peter 2:11–17, Dr. Andrew White expounds on the apostle Peter’s instruction to the ‘elect exiles’ (1:1) on how to live honorably during their sojourning. He tells them to abstain from their sinful passions and pursue holiness. He then goes on to give practical application for abstaining from sinful desires in the realm of submission to civil authorities. Christians ought to be known as good, respectful, and submissive citizens, for the glory of God and the salvation of others.
