This is sermon #5 in our series through First Peter. In this series, we will see that God has a people for His own possession who are called to live holy lives in an unholy age. In this sermon from 1 Peter 2:4–10, Dr. Andrew White teaches on the doctrine of election. Throughout the Bible, we read about God choosing a people for Himself. The doctrine of election does not contradict our need to come to Jesus through faith, nor does it discourage evangelism. Rather, as this text teaches us, our election as part of the people of God compels us to proclaim His mercies toward us, the undeserving, so that others may come to Jesus by faith and be part of His people as well.
